Kilchoman UK Small Batch No.2 is yet another fantastic release from the distillery’s highly sought-after limited edition archive series. With only 1260 bottles produced, this is the definition of small-batch distilling with a unique experimental twist. Created from a combination of 70% ex-Bourbon, 20% ex-Pedro Ximénez and 10% ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, the end result is a cornucopia of luscious flavours, marrying together Kilchoman’s distinct zesty citrus fruits and pungent peat smoke alongside layers of freshly picked orchard fruits, dark chocolate and treacle toffee. A truly eye-opening dram from one of the great distilleries of Islay and a fine addition to any whisky collection!
Kilchoman UK Small batch is bottled at a respectable 47.4% abv without any colouring or chill-filtration, ensuring only the most natural flavours and colour are present.
Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. and is the only distillery on Islay to produce . Their 100% Islay philosophy represents the revival of single farm, Single Malt whisky making. This philosophy stems from the families desire to resurrect the grass roots tradition of farm distilling, harvesting approximately 2,000 acres of farmland located around the distillery. They also employ a flock of black faced sheep to graze the land!
