Hermitage Yann Chave 2020

The standout wine at a recent 2020 En Primeur tasting, which is saying something as it was one of the best we've been to. What struck me was how approachable it was, which can only be achieved in a great year, with energy and vibrancy for a wine that will age 20 years. From a one hectare plot on the hill at Hermitage, the fruit flavours are cherries and blackberries with liquorice and pepper notes in the background, finishing with full, ripe tannins that will reward cellaring.
