Puligny-Montrachet Domaine Joseph Pascal 2024

This is classic Puligny in all the right ways: finely drawn rather than flashy, with that trademark combination of citrus precision and quiet power. The nose is all white peach, lemon zest and blossom, underpinned by hazelnut, chalk and a faint whisper of fresh oak. On the palate it feels taut and beautifully composed, the fruit sitting neatly inside a frame of mineral tension and bright acidity. There’s plenty of depth beneath the surface, but what stands out most is the sense of line and control — everything feels measured, focused and effortlessly elegant. The finish is long, saline and stony, with the sort of persistence that makes Puligny so compelling.

Joseph Pascal has long been a dependable name in the Côte de Beaune, and this village Puligny captures the domaine’s understated, terroir-led style very well. Sourced from limestone-rich vineyards and aged in French oak for around 14 months, it balances texture and finesse without ever becoming heavy. The 2024 vintage looks especially successful here, producing a wine with both immediate charm and the structure to develop over the next few years.
