The 2023 Haut de la Roche is finely poised, with aromas of ripe pear, citrus blossom, and white peach, underpinned by hints of hazelnut and chalk dust. On the palate it is textured yet taut, combining juicy stone fruit with vibrant acidity and a long mineral thread. Its pale gold colour, touched with green highlights, reflects the brightness and energy that carry through to a clean, lingering finish.
Eric Forest tends steep, high-altitude vineyards above Vergisson, where thin limestone soils lend precision and tension to his wines. Working organically and by hand, he focuses on small-scale, terroir-driven cuvées that have quickly established him among the Mâconnais’ most exciting growers.
