Bright and beautifully composed, Les 99 Coupées combines the natural generosity of southern Burgundy with a welcome sense of freshness and mineral definition. Ripe pear, white peach and lemon lead into acacia blossom and fresh almond, with a subtle stony character sitting beneath the fruit. The palate has satisfying texture without becoming heavy, balancing fleshy orchard fruit with lively citrus acidity. As it opens, touches of lemon oil, hazelnut and chalk add further complexity, before a clean, gently saline finish leaves the wine feeling precise and refreshingly complete.

Famille Paquet is based in the Mâconnais and has established a strong reputation for expressive, organically farmed Chardonnay from Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé and neighbouring appellations. Les 99 Coupées reflects the family's detailed approach to individual sites, giving the wine considerably more personality than straightforward Mâconnais Chardonnay. The 2024 is an attractive combination of fruit, texture and freshness – approachable now, but with enough substance to work particularly well alongside roast chicken, grilled fish, shellfish or creamy dishes.
