Exceptional terroir on the “Rosacker” in Hunawihr, this enclosure which has belonged to the Trimbach family for more than two hundred years extends over 1.67 hectares. The vineyard, about fifty years old, enjoys a south, south-east exposure on a subsoil predominantly Muschelkalk limestone or shell limestone: conditions which give this Riesling a specific flavor and a remarkable concentration of fruit enhanced by a refined hint of minerality at the end of the palate… the sign of recognition so typical of “Clos Sainte Hune” after a few years of aging. The small annual production, 8,000 bottles on average, makes it a precious wine coveted by all Riesling lovers and collectors around the world. Trimbach Clos Ste Hune Riesling 2012 en magnum is a beast. With exceptional aging potential, this will be ready to enjoy seven to ten years following its bottling.
“Greenish straw. Great balance! Higher residual sugar than usual and super-easy to love. A very flattering vintage of Clos Ste Hune. Just perfection of Riesling balance. No shortage of fruit but extremely tense too. Wonderful breadth and length on a modest, non-flashy frame. Very long.” 18.5 Pts, Jancis Robinson
