Langhe Nebbiolo of the highest standard! Pio Cesare Langhe Nebbiolo d’Alba 2018 comes exclusively from Pio Cesare’s own vineyards in and around the Langhe region. Gentle hand-picking with stainless steel tank fermentation (on skins) for 20 days. Aged for 24 months in French oak: 20% in barriques, 80% in 20-50 hectolitre casks or ‘botti’. This is a wine of great elegance, concentration, power and ageing structure. The nose is brimming with fragrant ripe berry fruits and florals. This follows through onto a rounded and well-integrated palate with grippy tannins and acidity finishing with richness and gentle toasted notes. Pio Cesare Langhe Nebbiolo d’Alba is an ideal food wine, especially paired with steak tartar, mushroom dishes, lasagne or soft cheeses.
