Wiston Estate Library Collection Blanc de Blancs 2010

Winner of the International Wine Challenge Trophy for the best English Sparkling Wine in 2024 AND WineGB’s Trophy for the Best Aged Vintage Wine in 2024.

Aromas of baked apple, lemon curd, and toasted brioche mingle with hazelnut, chamomile, and chalk. The palate is elegant yet complex, showing citrus, orchard fruit, and honey balanced by a fine, creamy mousse and saline minerality. Its pale gold colour with delicate, persistent bubbles reflects both maturity and finesse, while the finish is long, precise, and layered with pastry and citrus.

Crafted from 100% Chardonnay grown on the chalk soils of the South Downs, this Library Collection release highlights Wiston Estate’s focus on terroir transparency and extended lees ageing. The 2010 vintage, a cool and classic year in England, gave wines of tension and longevity, and with over a decade of development this Blanc de Blancs shows depth, refinement, and poise. A benchmark example of mature English sparkling wine, released in limited quantities from the estate’s cellars.

Bottling took place in late spring of 2011, and then secondary fermentation and lees ageing followed. This Library Collection release was disgorged in November 2018 and has since rested on cork.
