Siepi Mazzei 2020

Rich and polished, the 2020 Siepi opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum layered with spice, cedar, and dark chocolate. The palate is opulent yet balanced, showing ripe black fruit, espresso, and sweet tobacco wrapped in velvety tannins. Its deep ruby-purple hue reflects both concentration and ripeness, while the finish is long, powerful, and refined, with lingering notes of spice and fruit.

Siepi, first bottled in 1992, is one of Tuscany’s pioneering “Super Tuscans,” blending equal parts Sangiovese and Merlot from the Mazzei family’s historic estate in Chianti Classico. The vineyard, a south-facing amphitheatre at 260–330 metres, yields wines of both structure and richness. In the warm and generous 2020 vintage, Siepi displays its hallmark fusion of Tuscan elegance and international polish — a wine of depth, balance, and long ageing potential.
