Nyetimber Classic Cuvée 2009 is perhaps one of the oldest releases currently available in the English sparkling wine market. Composed of a blend of 55% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Noir and 19% Pinot Meunier, this does not disappoint one bit. Light golden amber in the glass with fine mousse and a nose bursting with fresh green apple and brioche characteristics. The palate is equally tantalizing, revealing caramelized apple, apricot, honey, and underlying toasty brioche notes. This finish is long and oh so moreish. Nyetimber Classic Cuvée 2009 is an exemplary example of how well English sparkling wine can age and would trump most Champagnes twice the price. Utterly delicious, exceptional value and one for the bucket list!
