Nyetimber 1086 Rosé 2010
West Sussex, England, 75cl
Nyetimber 1086 Rosé 2010 (complete with the iconic metal label) is the result of Eric Heerema’s unique vision and a celebration of the skills of Head Winemaker Cherie Spriggs. A first for English Sparkling Wine, this Prestige Cuvee Rosé is produced entirely from 100% estate-grown fruit, selected parcel-by-parcel. A blend celebrating the red-fruited purity of Pinot Noir (75%) balanced alongside the floral and creamy notes of Chardonnay (25%). Silky and elegant with complex summer fruits fighting for attention balanced with a lovely textural richness on the finish (thanks to the long lees ageing).
"Vineyards in West Sussex. 75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay. Five years' ageing on lees. Dosage 8 g/l. Disgorged June 2016. Mytik Diam technological cork. Tasted blind. Pale tomato and pretty phenolic and dry. Doesn’t quite follow through. Ripe tomato aromas. Complex and off-dry. This very taut wine is a bit uncompromising." - 17 Pts, Jancis Robinson MW
