A classic Mâconnais Chardonnay with freshness and charm. The bouquet shows citrus, pear and peach, lifted by floral notes and a touch of almond. The palate is round and lively, with ripe orchard fruit, balanced acidity and a clean, mineral-edged finish.It has an excellent roundness to it, ready to drink now but will age surprisingly well.
Maison Louis Latour, one of Burgundy’s most historic producers, has long championed the wines of the Mâconnais. Les Genièvres, from the village of Lugny, is among their most recognised bottlings, offering excellent value and a pure expression of southern Burgundy Chardonnay. The vineyard of Les Genièvres is one of the best in the area so make sure you don't confuse this with Macon-Lugny from lesser vineyards.
