Elegant and gently savoury, this Rioja opens with aromas of red cherry, dried strawberry, and plum, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and subtle spice. The palate is smooth and finely balanced, showing bright red fruit, soft tannins, and fresh acidity that gives the wine poise and length. Garnet in colour with slight brick hints, it finishes long, savoury, and lightly earthy with classic Rioja complexity.
Viña Cubillo comes from López de Heredia’s Cubillo vineyard in the Rioja Alta zone and is crafted in the estate’s famously traditional style. A blend led by Tempranillo with Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano, it is aged for several years in large old oak barrels before extended bottle ageing. The result is a beautifully balanced, mature-style Rioja that emphasises elegance, nuance, and timeless character.
