La Bastide Blanche Bandol Rosé 2023

A benchmark rosé from Bandol, crafted predominantly from Mourvèdre with Grenache and Cinsault. The bouquet is expressive with wild strawberry, citrus zest and white peach, layered with notes of Mediterranean herbs and spice. On the palate it is textured and precise, balancing ripe fruit with refreshing acidity and a savoury, mineral backbone. Complex, elegant and gastronomic, this is a rosé that pairs beautifully with Provençal cuisine, shellfish and grilled Mediterranean dishes.

Founded in the 1970s, La Bastide Blanche is one of Bandol’s most respected estates, situated on limestone soils overlooking the Mediterranean. The domaine is renowned for its commitment to Mourvèdre and for producing wines that reflect Bandol’s distinctive terroir – structured, expressive and ageworthy. Its rosé has become a reference point for serious, food-friendly Provençal rosé. Current winemaker Stéphane Bourret and his team have improved La Bastide wines’ quality beyond recognition. All of the 28 hectares estate is now run using biodynamic methods and the results are a joy to behold, with many of their wines awarded great accolades in the national and international wine press.
