Kleine Zalze Project Z

Erm, I wasn't sure why we were bothering with looking at this for inclusion in this issue as all of the sweet bases had been covered by the other wines on these pages (check out our latest Grapevine here). How wrong I was though. This is an utterly bonkers wine that had me mesmerised. Good luck guessing what it is at a blind tasting as it had buttery textural notes akin to Bual madeira, the mouthfeel and acid structure reminiscent of a Colheita port, and something of the Palo Cortado sherry about it (although I couldn't quite put my finger on what). All those great wines rolled into one and wrapped up in a gorgeous little bottle? A certain Christmas hit ias far as we're concerned.
