Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Drouhin Vaudon 2021

Taut and chiselled on the palate, this Grand Cru shows citrus zest, green apple, and pear framed by firm acidity and a flinty, saline edge. Aromas of lemon blossom, chalk, and crushed stone rise from the glass, while its pale straw-gold colour reflects purity and restraint. The finish is long, precise, and mineral, leaving a lasting impression of citrus and sea breeze.

Part of Joseph Drouhin’s Chablis-focused Vaudon estate, this cuvée comes from the Bougros vineyard on the western edge of the Grands Crus slope. Known for producing wines of breadth and power, Bougros in the cooler 2021 vintage shows a leaner, more finely etched profile, emphasising freshness and clarity over opulence. A terroir-driven Chablis that balances intensity with elegance, promising graceful development in bottle.

"A delicate and ample wine, easy to appreciate. The pale yellow colour is very pure, with light green reflections. On the nose, floral aromas of acacia harmonize with vegetal notes of fern and coriander. The aromas on the nose are amplified when the wine is in the mouth, together with new notes of orange or lemon marmalade. It has a soft, round, well balanced body. The aromas of fruit are enhanced by intense mineral notes evolving towards a slightly smoky flavour. Beautiful length on the aftertaste." - Véronique Boss-Drouhin
