Fletcher Barbaresco Recta Pete 2018 | Magnum

The name of Fletcher Barbaresco, 'Recta Pete' (shoot straight), pays homage to Dave's family heritage as former arrow makers. If you haven't encountered this Australian in Piedmont's wines yet then you're missing out. He's an incredibly talented young winemaker, who plies his trade at one of the area's big guns but has this fantastic project all to himself. We've been so fortunate to have secured the exclusive UK allocation for his wines over the years, and are thrilled to receive his 2018 Barbaresco. It's a blend of two Cru-classified vineyard sites, 60% from Roncaglie Cru and 40% from Starderi, and is raised in old oak for two years. Intoxicating on the nose with gritty, tart red fruits balanced against spices and herbal nuances. The palate is grippy and full of plenty of dark fruits, tobacco and spice characters. A special release in magnum, this will age gracefully for many years.
