Rich yet precise, the 2022 Haut de la Roche opens with aromas of white peach, ripe pear, and citrus blossom, layered with hints of almond, flint, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is both textured and taut, showing ripe orchard fruit balanced by crystalline acidity and a strong mineral thread. Only after a moment does its pale gold colour, with green reflections, seem to mirror the brightness and energy carried through to the long, elegant finish.

Eric Forest, a rising star in the Mâconnais, farms his small, steeply terraced vineyard sites by hand, working organically and with a clear focus on terroir expression. Haut de la Roche, perched high above Vergisson, is rooted in limestone-rich soils that yield wines of tension and purity. The warm yet balanced 2022 vintage brought both ripeness and freshness, allowing Forest to craft a Pouilly-Fuissé of depth, precision, and ageing potential — a true reflection of its hillside origins.
