Pure and understated, this Meursault opens with aromas of lemon zest, pear, and white peach, layered with hints of hazelnut, subtle cream, and crushed stone. The palate is precise and finely textured, showing citrus and orchard fruit balanced by bright acidity and a gentle, chalky minerality. Pale straw-gold in colour, it finishes long and elegant, with restrained richness and excellent clarity.
Domaine Matrot is known for its traditional, terroir-driven approach, favouring balance and finesse over overt oak. The cooler 2021 vintage emphasises freshness and definition, resulting in a Meursault that is more linear and mineral than opulent, yet still unmistakably expressive of the appellation.
