Château La Peyre Cuvée l'Hopital de Mignot 2016

A refined and structured Haut-Médoc red crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The bouquet is complex, with blackcurrant, plum and cherry layered with cedar, tobacco and earthy spice. The palate is elegant and concentrated, showing ripe dark fruit, firm tannins and a long, savoury finish that reflects its maturity.

Château La Peyre is a family-run estate situated between Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe, producing wines that balance Médoc structure with approachability. The Cuvée l’Hôpital de Mignot is a special selection that showcases both the character of the 2016 vintage and the estate’s commitment to crafting wines of depth and typicity. There is nothing physically remaining from this hospital, but the name was kept! Since purchasing in 1997 Dany and Remi Rabiller have restored the vineyard; there are now just 1.5 hectares left, producing 10,000 bottles when vintage allows. The remaining land from the old site was sold by the Estate’s previous owners to the prestigious Châteaux Lafon Rochet and Cos d’Estournel estates.
