85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, Le Carillon de Rouget 2019 really shines on the nose with fresh notes of cherries and blueberries. Concentrated on the palate with firm, youthful tannins with layers of red and black fruits (cherries, plums) combined with classic pencil shaving and wood notes on the finish. One to decant or hold for many years to come.
The second wine of Château Rouget. The terroirs dedicated to Le Carillon de Rouget are slightly higher than the ones selected for Château Rouget. This, combined with the relative youth of the vines compared to the ones of the Grand Vin, results in earlier ripening grapes that gives the wine its roundness and approachability when young.
