A mature and complex Sauternes from a First Growth estate. The bouquet opens with dried apricot, orange peel and honey, layered with notes of saffron, almond and caramel. The palate is luscious yet balanced, showing candied fruit, spice and nutty depth supported by bright acidity. Long and harmonious, it displays the elegance of fully developed Sauternes.
Château Rieussec, classified as Premier Cru in 1855 and owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1984, is one of the leading names in Sauternes. Known for power and concentration, its wines age beautifully, with the 1996 vintage offering both richness and refined maturity.
