Duo de Conseillante 2016

An ethereal second wine from Château La Conseillante situated next door to Cheval Blanc and L'Evangile. Often dubbed the Burgundy drinkers Bordeaux, Duo de Conseillante is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, fermented in concrete before being aged in 50% new French oak barrels for 12 months. Showing a glistening violet colour, the nose reveals an intoxicating aromas of baked black cherries, mulberries and wild blueberries with touch of floral perfume. Mirroring the nose, the palate is medium bodied, soft and wonderfully elegant with a long finish. Superb!
