Sole UK exclusivity. Bright, saline and refreshingly direct, Le Clos de Morinières leans into the brisk, seafood-loving side of Muscadet. The nose is all lemon peel, crunchy green apple and white flowers, with a faint leesy softness underneath. On the palate it’s taut and mouth-watering, driven by citrus, orchard fruit and a distinct mineral snap, but rounded just enough by its time on the lees to avoid feeling austere. The finish is clean, stony and lightly saline, with exactly the kind of oyster-shell freshness you want from a classic Sèvre et Maine.

Sourced from a single enclosed parcel of 30+ year old vines in Vallet, Clos des Morinières shows the estate’s more straightforward, terroir-led expression of Melon de Bourgogne. There’s real character here, but the emphasis is on freshness, immediacy and drinkability rather than weight or breadth. A very smart Muscadet for shellfish, prawns, crab and simple white fish dishes.
