Château Beaumont Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2016 Bordeaux, France, 75cl
Château Beaumont Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2016
Bordeaux, France, 75cl
Aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and blackberry are layered with cedar, pencil shavings, and a hint of violet. The palate is medium-bodied and refined, showing ripe dark fruit, soft tobacco, and subtle spice framed by well-integrated tannins. Its deep garnet colour reflects the wine’s maturity, while the finish is smooth, balanced, and quietly persistent, with lingering notes of cassis and savoury oak.
Located in the southern Haut-Médoc, Château Beaumont has earned a strong reputation for producing reliably elegant, well-priced claret. The exceptional 2016 vintage in Bordeaux delivered wines of freshness, structure, and depth, and Beaumont is no exception — crafted from a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot contributing roundness and complexity. A polished, classically styled Médoc that drinks beautifully now but can continue to develop over the next several years.
"The 2016 Beaumont has quite a powerful bouquet with dense black fruit, boysenberry and cedar, traces of pencil lead developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite spicy compared to its peers, then it reins everything back in for what is a refined finish. Classy stuff." 91pts Neal Martin, vinous.com
