The palate is generous and full-bodied, showing juicy dark fruit alongside notes of liquorice and garrigue. Firm tannins give structure, while a fresh, savoury edge carries through to a long, warming finish. A wine with both power and southern charm, true to its Mediterranean roots.

The Bergé family has been cultivating vines in Fitou for seven generations, with Bertrand continuing the tradition while championing low yields and expressive old-vine Carignan. Fitou, the Languedoc’s oldest AOC, is shaped by rugged hillsides, limestone and schist soils, and winds from the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees — conditions that bring intensity and freshness to the wines. Cuvée Origines is crafted to honour this heritage, combining the richness of the south with the precision of artisanal winemaking.
