The early years of Two Paddocks, began in 1993 when the first five acres of Pinot Noir were planted at the original vineyard at Gibbston, Central Otago located in the deep south of New Zealand. Thanks to the growth of Two Paddocks, the once original vineyard has now been augmented by three other small vineyards, both owners have become outrageously ambitious and aim to produce the World’s best Pinot Noir year after year.
Two Paddocks Pinot Noir wine is the flagship wine from Two Paddocks. It is organically grown and made from the best grapes from all four of the Two Paddocks vineyards. The wine is hand crafted using traditional methods including a 25% whole bunch indigenous fermentation and hand plunging. Maturation takes place in French barriques for 11 months, using a mixture of old and new (25%) barrels.
Offering red fruit, violet and spicy blackcurrant aromas, followed by a textural palate showing lots of density, complexity and persistence. It has a rich feminine body and a long defined finish, this is not your ordinary Pinot Noir.
