Back in August we were lucky enough to try one of the very first, very limited, unreleased bottlings of Roebuck Estates Blanc de Noirs 2015 en magnum and couldn’t have been more impressed. Made from hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes grown on their picturesque Roman Villa vineyard near Petworth, these grapes are gently pressed and then partially fermented in barrel, before undergoing 48 months of bottle-ageing. It’s golden copper in hue with delicate bubbles and a nose that reveals aromas of baked apples, ripe stone fruits and freshly baked pastry notes. It’s a rich, yet beautifully balanced wine, with caramelised apple, red fruits and toasted brioche notes on a long-lingering finish.

Roebuck Estates Blanc De Noirs 2015 combines the weight and complexity of the Classic Cuvée with the fruit and finesse of the Rosé de Noirs, whilst retaining its own unique style. A brilliant single vineyard, single vintage, single varietal English sparkling wine now available in Magnum!
“The 2015 Blanc de Noirs, made from 100% Pinot Noir, has a delightful nose of strawberry, orange blossom, white peach and a touch of rosehip.” Neal Martin, Vinous.com
“Made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Roman Villa Vineyard foothills of the South Downs in West Sussex. Quite rich in colour, this is a decadent, expressive Blanc de Noirs with notes of cherry, apple and lemons. There are hints of nut and toast, and the flavour builds beautifully across the palate, reaching quite a volume. Finishes vivid and spicy with a crystalline edge. A lovely fruit-driven expression of fizzy Pinot, this is really impressive.” – 93/100, Jamie Goode, Wineanorak.com
