Fontodi Chianti Classico 2020

Certified organic, Fontodi Chianti Classico 2020 is produced from 100% Sangiovese. In the glass this shows a deep ruby red in colour. The nose is awash with classic Chianti nose of sour cherry and plums, leading to notes of leather and tobacco. On the palate, it has great depth of flavour, with juicy fruit and supple tannins giving way to a silky-smooth texture. This Chianti Classico has superb structure and finishes with a fine mineral note.Establishing in 1968 by the Manetti family, the Fontodi wine estate is located in Panzano in the heart of the Chianti Classico regions, where vines have been cultivated since Roman times. Since establishment, the Manetti family have invested much of their time and effort in making the estate and vineyard one of the most highly regarded of all Chianti Classico producers. With the Fontodi vineyards organic with mature vines and centred to the southwest of the village of Panzano, at 400m above sea level means, that the fruit has fresh, balancing acidity which helps to balance all of its richness.
