Purchased from an immaculate local private cellar. Stored perfectly since release.
Immaculate condition for the age, showing dark, ruby red in the glass with notes of creamy black fruits; blackcurrants and blackcherries with liquorice and chocolate. Remarkable structure with noticeable tannins and acidity finishing long and luscious. Decant and enjoy over a long evening!
“Very dark crimson still with only a hint of age on the rim. Intense nose with a hint of mint. Complex, round and integrated with plump plummy fruit but a dry, peppery finish. A sort of Hermitage style of vintage port. A vintage unfairly overshadowed by 1977 – although it’s a very irregular vintage with some poor examples. Lovely dry sign-off but lots of fruits as well as the tannins. A bargain! Very vigorous.” 18.5/20, Jancis Robsinson
