The vines for this bottling are over 65 years old and are some of the oldest to be found on the plateau. Vieilles Vignes simply means old vines in French. The average age of Cigale’s vines are 40 to 50 years old, but some of the oldest are over 110 and were planted just after the phylloxera epidemic at the turn of the last century. As you’d expect, this is extraordinarily complex with a riot of flavours and savoury notes. A terrific bottle of wine.
