Castiglion del Bosco Brunello di Montalcino is a 100% Sangiovese of complexity and power. Grapes are hand-picked and whole bunch pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 18 days. Matured in French oak barriques (20% new and 80% first and second passage) for 24 months before bottling and release. Aromas of stewed fruits; redberry, blackcurrant and cherry, mingle with spices and leather. The palate is dense and rich, mirroring the nose with a herbaceous, meaty finish. Well structured with a high tannin and acidity profile, make for a wine of long cellaring. Castiglion del Bosco is beautiful Brunello di Montalcino from one of the the leading estates in Tuscany!
“Wonderful aromas of flowers, plums, terracotta and white pepper. Intense, yet ever so subtle. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a long and intense finish. Shows excellent length.” – 97 Pts, James Suckling
