Such an impressive Malbec, this; hailing from the less-is-more school, at least in terms of overall personality. In other words, this is not a big new world ‘fruit-bomb’ but a wine of tremendous poise. On the nose there are alluring notes of violets, blackberries and dried fruits (figs and raisins) and subtle hints of mocha and tobacco. The palate is powerful but not over-bearing, finishing very long with an unctuous array of black fruits and a lick of liquorice.
Grown at 1,100 MASL, picked by hand, fermented in stainless steel, 100% aged in new French oak for 14 months, wonderful!
