Domaine du Pélican Trois Cépages 2019

Arbois, France, 75cl

Domaine du Pélican is owned by Burgundy's great Marquis d'Angerville, who have been producing wines of precision and purity with a more Burgundian characteristic than most wines you'd find in the Jura. Domaine du Pélican Trois Cépages opens with an inviting nose of ripe red fruits with subtle alpine herb notes. The palate is sensual and sumptuous but bright with creamy griotte cherry fruit and fresh crushed herbs. Svelte and ripe but vivid and with a salty and sapid element. More curvaceous and generous than usual without losing that translucent jewel like fruit. A beauty!Domaine du Pélican Trois Cépages is produced from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau and 5% Poulsard, hence the name Trois Cépages. The vineyards from which this cuvée is produced are all located in the village of Montigny-les-Arsures, where the winery also sits. The soil consists of grey and black marls, partially covered with fallen rocks. The vineyards face West with an altitude between 300 and 400 metres above sea level. Oak maturation takes place in Burgundy barrels (two thirds) and oak foudres.
