Guerila Cabernet Franc Selection 2017

Guerila Cabernet Franc

Intense garnet red colour with ruby hues. It displays typical varietal characteristics of Cabernet Franc. Very complex aroma and flavour of dry plums, forest undergrowth, wild leather, tobacco and pepper. A rich, full body with an exceptionally long aftertaste and pleasing freshness.

Domaine Bergon Cabernet Franc 2015

Domaine Bergon dates back as far as 400AD. This independent, 1200 acre property is based in the coastal village of Vias, Southern France. This tasty Cabernet Franc is medium bodied with a rich redcurrant nose and berry fruit flavours. Made by Calmel and Joseph.

Serbal Cabernet Franc 2020

Serbal Cabernet Franc
Located in the district of San José in Tupungato, Uco Valley, this stunning yet simple winery is the first you will see on the famous ‘Ruta del Vino’, Route 86.
The humble slate rooves and drably coloured walls host an extremely impressive modern facility, where winemaker Philippe Caraguel quietly plies his trade, bringing a touch of French restraint to the fruits of these 100% estate-owned vineyards, many of which boast some particularly old vines. Atamisque makes great Malbec, of course, but it is perhaps with ‘other’ varietals and blends that you will find the finest examples of Uco expression. Serbal Cabernet Franc, for example, is the most exciting and best value example of this grape that we have ever tasted, from anywhere. There are three, easy to climb tiers in the range – Serbal, Catalpa and Atamisque itself – all named after indigenous trees and shrubs that can be found growing amongst the vines. Atamisque also encompasses a golf course, a very nice restaurant, delightful guest accommodation and a trout farm. But who cares about all that when the wines are this good!

Circumstance Cabernet Franc 2017

Circumstance Cabernet Franc

On the nose this is a classic Cabernet Franc with hints of pencil shaving, tomato leaf and lovely red fruits. The mouth feel is long, elegant with a memorable finish and weightless tannins. Cabernet Franc’s liveliness makes it an excellent food wine.

Raats Family Cabernet Franc 2015

Raats Family Cabernet Franc

A sexy, luscious Cabernet Franc that is the definition of elegance. Harmoniously integrated flavours of blackberry, black cherry and plum mingle with tobacco, cinnamon and spice. Tannins are soft and gentle on the palate, and hints of dark chocolate and minerality on the long finish. A wine gently crafted with great love, and to be enjoyed the same way. Bruwer Raats has received international and local acclaim during his career as cellar master and winemaker par excellence. Having carved out a reputation as a New World leader in the production of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, Bruwer crafts soil specific wines that embody the unique characteristics of the Stellenbosch region: a truly distinctive showcase for South African wine and soil, with a consistency in quality that is unquestionable. The 2011 Original Chenin Blanc epitomises the balance between power and elegance while the 2009 Family Chenin delivers a refined complexity with firm minerality. The über-elegant and sexy Family Cabernet Franc shows the stunning heights this varietal can attain, while the continued collaboration between Mzokhona Mvemve and Bruwer on their MR de Compostela exceeds even Bruwer’s high expectations; this year being awarded a place in the top 100 South African wines.

Flametree Embers Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Flametree Embers Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2015 Embers Cabernet Sauvignon was made in a soft, fruit driven, unpretentious and easy drinking style. It has beautiful aromas of violets, juicy red and black fruits with chocolate and some cedar. This year’s wine has a deliciously juicy mid palate with flavours of plum, dark cherry and dried herbs. Unashamedly medium bodied with sweet juicy fruit and a fine tannin structure. A fantastic Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon for all occasions.
