We were so excited with the quality of the 2019 Meursaults from Domaine Matrot we couldn’t resist buying 5 cases of the 2016 to whet your appetite before our October shipment arrives. Our enthusiasm was matched by Neal Martin who declared, ‘…great wines are being made at this estate’. With five years ageing behind it the Meursault Blagny 1er Cru is a now a delight and worth every penny of the £76.50 price tag.
“The 2016 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru is more steely and reserved, offering up notes of crisp green apple, melon oil, chamomile and light reduction. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, chalky and tensile with nice concentration and a tangier, more acid-driven profile. This is built to reward bottle age.” Parker 90+
