Kilchoman Distillery have released a very special limited edition bottling drawn from a total of 33 casks, of which 9 fully matured the whisky, as well as 24 PX casks which were finished for a period of 12 to 18 months.
The result is a richly concentrated dram full of sweet Pedro Ximénez characteristics, as well as Islay peat smoke. The nose is brimming with blackberries, redcurrants and light citrus fruits with subtle syrup and dates notes. This follows through onto a long and rounded palate with layers of mixed berries, caramel and a luscious finish. What a dram!
