The vineyard speaks again with this 2013: austere elements meet restrained power and latent richness; there is a feeling of compactness, slow-to-unfurl density and a rising, gentle florality. Youthful still, even six years after vintage, there is huge development potential here. Chardonnay-dominant as always, it combines the steeliness of a young Côtes de Blancs champagne with the tightrope acidity of the very best English sparkling wines. Fantastic clarity, purity, and engaging length will allow this wine excellent ageing prowess over the next 2-6 years.
