Fruit for this wine is sourced from the Kalleske family vineyard in the Koonunga Hill sub-district of the Barossa. This is classic Barossa Shiraz combining power and elegance. Dark chocolate, plum, vanilla, cedar. This stuff is awesome. As Kim Brebach put it “… a velvet glove without the iron fist. Gorgeous sweet fruit from the nose to the toes, this is hard to put down. In 1979 Robert Hesketh and Peter Lehmann started a small business called Masterson Wines. This fledgling company was celebrated for saving many growers during the 1980’s vine pull and went on to become the family winemaking dynasty of Peter Lehmann wines. Fast forward to the present day and Robert and Peter’s sons, Jonathon and Phil respectively, have joined forces in a new family business to create wines that are of a high quality yet remain accessible. The wines, rather than being ‘all things to all people’ focus on the core strengths of the regions from which they come. The wines are wrapped up in the Hesketh ‘house style’ of balance, complexity and drinkability. These really are brilliantly made and delicious wines.
