Gevrey-Chambertin Domaine Duroché 2017

Gevrey-Chambertin Domaine Duroché 2017

Burgundy, France, 75cl

Domaine Duroché's Gevrey-Chambertin 2017 shoes a fine purity of colour and fruit. The nose offers lovely red and dark berry fruits – boysenberries, cherry, redcurrant, cranberry and raspberries – with a sniff of five spice. There's a lovely mineral notes so often associated with great Gevrey-Chambertin's. Medium-bodied with delicate tannins and a bright acidity - delightful now, though this will age for many years.Pierre Duroché is a rising star among the young vignerons of Burgundy. Taking over from his father, he has at his disposal four grand crus holdings in Gevrey-Chambertin, including Latricières-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin, amongst other village vineyards. Farmed under organic practices, yields are deliberately low with Pierre utilising minimal oak ageing and no fining and filtering. The result are wines of precision, depth and vibrant fruit.
