One of the finest Cabernet Sauvignons we’ve ever tried! Domaine Naturaliste Morus Cabernet Sauvignon is stunning and we’ve managed to secure the only UK stock of the 2014 vintage. “An opulent and wonderfully rich Cabernet that doesn’t lose its shape or integrity as it fills your senses.” 98 Points, James Halliday. Domaine Naturaliste Morus Cabernet Sauvignon is from the heart of Margaret River. A single vineyard selection of the prized ‘Roche clone’ with plantings from 1978 and 1982. These fully mature and majestic vines are some of the oldest in the region, planted by the second wave of wine-growing pioneers. The gravelly soils of the vineyard are flanked by the dominant native hard wood trees named Jarrah. These trees are a favourable and exact biological indicator that the site is ideally matched to Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit expression from this site includes violets, cassis, and mulberry. Indeed, mulberry is a very attractive fruit character which is a unique part of the terroir expression of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. This cuvée is named to reflect this unique mulberry character. Morus australis being the genus and species name for the mulberry tree. Mulberry, cassis and cocoa flavours mingle with exotic spices, anise and a hint of aromatic violet. This wine has extraordinary fruit character displaying depth and poise. Elegantly structured with fine silky ripe tannins, this wine is to be cherished and is destined to evolve over time. A finely detailed wine. Bruce Dukes is a Margaret River icon. His low-intervention, hand-crafted wines have been winning awards and accolades far beyond the scope of this tiny 4000 case winery. Bruce makes wine bunch by bunch, grape by grape, from parcels of premium fruit sourced from around the region. His wines are balanced, complex and delicious. Perfect with grilled Argentinian beef ribs, any good cut of red meat or strong cheeses.
