A blend of Domaine Ferret’s best parcel of 40+ year old Chardonnay vines from their Pouilly-Fuissé amphitheatre. A third of the vines are grown on west-facing granit soil. Vinification takes place in a proportion of 80% old and 25% new oak barrels for a period of 10 months with an additional 6 months in vats.
Domaine Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé 2018 is lovely and fresh with layers of bright stone fruits, hazelnut and a clean minerality present on the nose. The palate is elegant and complex, mirroring the nose with intense spices and a lovely, mouth-coating creaminess on the finish. Domaine Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé 2018 is a delicious wine and a perfect introduction into the estate’s wines. Pair with an array of seafood dishes like risotto or salmon, or simply enjoyed on it’s own.
“The 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé has turned out very well, wafting from the glass with notes of crisp Anjou pear, orange oil and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, bright and precise, its elegantly textural attack segues into a tensile, racy mid-palate, concluding with a beautifully defined finish. It’s a fine introduction to the Domaine Ferret range—and an excellent wine in its own right.” – 89 points, William Kelley, RobertParker.com (Drink 2020-2035)
