Château Rieussec 2010

Bordeaux, France, 75cl

Often regarded as one of Sauternes very best, with vineyards neighbouring the prestigious Château d'Yquem, Château Rieussec employ rigorous wine making techniques with hand harvesting taking 6-8 weeks long. Fermented in barrels and aged for 16-26 months, with 50% new oak used. Château Rieussec 2010 is a wine rich in honeyed pastry and zesty marmalade flavours, finishing long and luscious with a fresh line of acidity. Not clawingly sweet.

Château Rieussec 2010

"The 2010 Rieussec is slightly more backwards on the nose. It is very focused with almond, saffron, orange pith and dried honey aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious entry. Impressive depth with lovely vanillary new oak, it is long and pure towards the finish. A Sauternes with pedigree. Superb. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. 2023 - 2045" - Neal Martin, Vinous.com
