Chassagne Montrachet Bertrand Bachelet 2018 Burgundy, France, 75cl
Chassagne Montrachet Bertrand Bachelet 2018
Burgundy, France, 75cl
With 13 hectares of vines spanning the Côte de Beaune, Bertrand Bachelet, taking over the helm from his father, Jean-Louis, in 2011, looks after his family estate. Bertrand Bachelet Chassagne Montrachet comes from iron-rich clay-limestone soil, with the Chardonnay grapes being hand-picked and pressed immediately. Aged for 16 months, of which 12 months in different types of barrels (20% of which are new wood). Lovely golden amber in colour with soft florals on the nose accompanied with spices, toasted brioche and orchard fruit notes. Great freshness and tension on the palate with a long buttery finish and a touch of minerality. Chassagne Montrachet Bertrand Bachelet 2018 is remarkably fresh and inviting already, though will benefit from furthered cellaring.
