Crafted from Maison Drouhin’s Premier Cru “Aux Cras” south-east facing vineyard overlooking Beaune. Aged in French oak (20% in new oak) for 14-18 months, this shows a beautiful ruby red in colour. Fresh aromatics of blackcurrant and blackberry combined with some notes of vanilla come to the fore. With age, touches of leather will mingle alongside truffle and spices. The palate reveals complex dark red fruits balanced with a delicate touch of wood on the finish. A charming Beaune 1er Cru from Maison Drouhin that will age gracefully for many years.
“The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Cras is turning out nicely, offering up aromas of sweet berry fruit, licorice and dried flowers. Medium-bodied, bright and mineral, it’s an elegant, precise rendition of this superior hillside premier cru, a cuvée Drouhin only recently began bottling separately.” – 90 -92 Pts, William Keeley, The Wine Advocate (January 2021)
