Barbeito Single Harvest 2008 Colheita

Barbeito is a family-owned company formed in 1946 by Mario Barbeito. Today Mario's grandson runs Vinhos Barbeito. Barbeito is a very traditional cantiero style Madeira and undergoes no de-acidification nor addition of caramel. Made from 100% hand-picked Tinta Negra Mole and aged in French oak barrels. Barbeito Single Harvest 2008 Colheita shows a dense golden to brown in colour and exudes loads of walnut, spice and fruitcake notes on the nose and the palate. There is good acidity on the palate and hints of natural sweetness. Drink on its own, with walnuts or try with mushroom starters or beef consommé.
