Argentinian Wine

The Andes mountains, glacial lakes and abundance of grassland in Argentina is paramount to its rise to success as a world renowned wine region. Located in South America, Argentina benefits from the perfect climate thus making it the largest wine producer in the region. The most popular wine produced in Argentina is undoubtedly its red wines, namely Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.

The most recognisable wine regions of the country are located in the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja. Mendoza is by far the most popular, producing around 70% of Argentina’s wine annually. They also produce wine in Salta, Catamarca and more recently Buenos Aires.

At Hennings Wine, we carefully select a variety of wines from a number of popular regions and below you can see our top picks or alternatively browse our complete selection of Argentinian Wine.

Mendoza

The Mendoza region is of course the most popular wine region in Argentina, partly due to its size but mainly down to the quality of wine produced. Located at the edge of the Andes Mountains which run the Western Coast of South America, the province is responsible for roughly 70 percent of the country’s annual wine production. The Malbec produced in Mendoza is of great concentration and intensity, in particular the french Malbec grape.
